In Their Words - Awesome Layout

Today, it's all about how your words can actually be integral to the design of a layout. I love Jen's layout, the simplicity of the composition, the photo masks, the title and element work, and how the words just seem to extend the design of the layout to the full page, without creating a full page spread.

Your challenge - use your words to design your page!

In Their Words
Happy Wednesday! Keely here shining the high beams on a great layout I discovered while cruising the galleries. I drool over all kinds of pages but I really admire a well executed page that isn't about a person or one's feeling because it's difficult to translate to the page. Kat did a fabulous job. I really think her journaling makes the page, it's great story telling. I have a feeling a lot of us can identify with her predicament.

In Their Words Wednesday - and I have another Awesome Layout to show you!

I wanted to share a layout I first found on the Gallery Standouts Blog - which, if you've never visited, is a wonderful recognition of scrapping and memory keeping from all over the digital community. It's been a great source of inspiration for me!

This layout, by Danielle, is perfect in so many ways. She gets to the heart of life not always being pretty in her layout, Disarray. But even in the not so pretty days, we can create beauty in the memory. I love how her journaling looks like it's a brush in the paper, and I love the brushwork and shadowing. It's an amazing layout.

While we love to celebrate the fun pretty stuff in our lives, sometimes it is good to remember that we had hard times, too, and we made it through (breaking into Barry Manilow's Made It Through The Rain).

Have a wonderful week...and remember - our memories are of happy and sad times, fun and not so fun times, wonderful and hard times. Share them all.

And a Happy Canada Day to all of our Canadian friends!

Writer's Block Monday

Hi, Keely here bringing you a little journaling mojo this Monday morning. I'm fond of pages that give little glimpses into who we are and what makes us, us. This week I'm putting the focus on your favorite time. What's the time you look forward to most and why? Is it an actual hour of the day, say 9pm after the kids are in bed? Is it when your alarm goes off or your third Thursday of the month date night, when your book club meets? Is your favorite time spent with others or alone? Why is the time fulfilling for you? I'd love to see what everyone else looks forward to. To give you an idea, here's a page from me...I love a Sunday morning.
